Bob’s career in finance began 45 years ago with Merrill Lynch in their Chicago Board of Trade Clearing Office. He spent his first 10 years in supervisory and management positions in the stock and bond clearing areas as well as on the floors of the Chicago Board of Options Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. From there he stepped out on his own to trade commodity futures and options in the Chicago Board of Trade’s Financial Futures trading pits as a “local trader”.
After approximately 20 years at the exchanges, Bob made the transition to become a financial advisor in 1991 with Dean Witter in Oak Brook, Illinois. Five years later, he earned his Certified Financial Planner™ certification through intensive study and continuing education in the areas of retirement planning, tax issues, estate planning, insurance and investment planning. Then in 1998, Bob transitioned his practice to Raymond James and opened his own independent branch office. It has always been Bob’s mission to understand what is truly important to each client in order to create a personalized plan that is tailored to their specific goals and needs. His decision to join SAGE facilitates that mission while also providing him with the tools necessary to comply with the increased government regulations that have recently been enacted.
